Police say the arrest came after a family member had reported concerns over the youngster.
She had “heavy bruising” to the left side of her face, according to cops.
At the hospital, doctors discovered more injuries, including bite marks to the child’s head.
In the mugshot taken after her arrest, Nguyen smiled broadly for the camera while wearing a grey hoodie.
The victim is now in the custody of another family member, according to WFMY.
After her arrest, Nguyen was held in prison on a $75,000 bond and she is set to reappear in court on Tuesday.
The Guilford County Child Protective Services and High Point police are continuing to investigate.
