The two-year-old princess will be attending Willcocks Nursery School, which is next door to London's Royal Albert Hall and only a stone's throw away from the family's Kensington Palace home.
An official Kensington Palace spokesman said, 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning. The images were taken by The Duchess shortly before Princess Charlotte left for her first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School.'
Charlotte wore a cute red overcoat paired with stone coloured tights, red shows and an adorable matching bow! The little princess also wore a pink scarf and pink backpack.
A royal source told PEOPLE, 'They [Prince William and Kate Middleton] chose that nursery because they thought it would be an ideal first step for Charlotte’s education and they were impressed by the team who work there.'
Charlotte's older brother George stared preschool at the same age as Charlotte, in January 2016. Prince George attended a Montessori nursery, just a short drive from the royal family's country home, Anmer Hall. Charlotte, unlike George, will be attending preschool on a full-time basis.
