The dangerous challenge which sees people pouring boiling water on themselves or other people first made headlines two years ago when an eight-year-old girl was killed after being dared to drink boiling water through a straw.
Following the horrific incident, Billy's friend's mum has been arrested, accused of not seeking medical help following the scalding.
Authorities have revealed that Angela Guth turned herself into police on charges of criminal abuse and wanton endangerment.
Taking to Facebook, Billy's own mother Patricia has begged other parents to talk to their children about the challenge.
'People please talk to your children this is a nightmare,' she wrote.
'He went to sleep and woke with his friend throwing boiling water over him laughing while my boy fit to get his clothes off.'
