According to Mr Pocock, the rescue cat's anus was 'completely town in two' and his 'scrotum ripped off'. The poor cat also sustained severe internal damage and bleeding.
'The nurse and vet had never seen such horrific damage,' he wrote.
'The cat will have to attend the vet every two days as the damage was so severe.'
Mr Pocock wrote that Donkey was adopted from an animal shelter eight years ago.
'My parents brought it into their lives and spent so much time with it. It is now a lovely cat and is great and friendly with all people. Let’s hope this act of violence doesn’t undo eight years of loving work.'
Kasey Vessey, another relative, told the Gold Coast Bulletin that she suspected the cat had been 'raped' by a human.
'My mother in law found him in the garden bleeding from his bottom, that’s when they rushed him to the vet.
'Our vet (said) this was human activity using something to penetrate the cat’s bottom,' Ms Vessey said.
'They have told us that the injuries sustained are not ever seen from another animal as there would be marks on other areas of the cat from a fight.'
According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, Donkey is recovering well from surgery.
