The photo, taken by a ghost tour visitor and published on the Facebook page of Sunbury Historical Tours, has caused stir among ghost hunters.
The building is part the old Sunbury Lunatic Asylum, where patients were forced to wear straitjackets and were subjected to violent electric convulsive therapy treatments.
Commenters speculate the photo shows the spirit of a doomed patient, committed to leaping to her death from the roof of the building.
Others aren’t so convinced, saying that pictures of the building during the day show it has chimneys, and the shape could easily be just a part of the building snapped in low light.
