Bunn was reportedly walking home from her sister's house in Adelaide's western suburbs on Boxing Day when she was chased down and mauled by the dog.
Channel Ten reports that Bunn's jugular vein was severely damaged in the attack, which resulted in major blood loss and her chin became partially detached.
Ms Bunn spent two weeks following the attack in hospital, receiving a total of 200 stitches and several skin graphs.
The dog reportetly latched on to Ms Bunn's chin and pulled down, causing the significant damage.
'When I did look in the mirror I just burst into tears,' Ms Bunn said. 'I didn't know what to think. I know I'm not going to look the same.'
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Ms Bunn said that the attack was 'random' and didn't blame anyone.
Channel Ten reports that under the strict South Australian dog attack laws, the owners could face up to a $10,000 fine.
